One of the main reasons I went vegan and stopped eating meat and dairy was that I had read it can help with depression and anxiety. I had horrible cyclical depression cycles where I’d be in bed every month for 2-3 days straight. It happened like clockwork and I dreaded that time period. I also had a ball of anxiety in my stomach constantly. It was like a ball of doom that I had to live my life around and it was exhausting! By eating vegan food, these symptoms don’t happen any more. I finally feel free for the first time in over a decade. Something in those foods didn’t work in my body. When I finally listened to what my body was telling me, I knew I couldn’t eat meat and dairy. Over time my taste buds changed and I stopped wanting those foods anyway.

I was invited to speak on a body positive podcast, Fat Face Feelings, and went in depth on these issues and revelations. It was the first time I’d really openly talked about these issues and I want to thank Eron and Amanda for giving me the platform to share. We also chatted it up and ate a ton of vegan chocolate chip cookies! YUM! You can listen to our podcast here: Episode 7: Vegan Cookies Are Fat Face Approved
